RailPros’ Irvine Office has moved! As of 11/22/2010, we have moved to 1 Ada, Suite 200, Irvine, CA 92618. We are still settling into our new space and we love the new building. RailPros, Inc. has recently opened a Downtown San Diego office to better serve our San Diego area clients. The office is headed by Mike Ruth, PE and Joe Aroyo, PE. Mr. Ruth and Mr. Aroyo are managing projects for SANDAG, CCDC, NCTD and other major San Diego clients. Current projects include: Downtown San Diego Quiet Zone, CCDC. RailPros designed significant improvements at 12 multi-track at-grade crossings grade crossing improvements in order to implement a quiet zone in downtown San Diego. RailPros is pleased to announce Mr. Joe Zerzan has joined the RailPros as a senior signal manager. He has 33 years of railroad signaling experience, including 17 years with Southern Pacific Railroad and broad experience as a consulting engineer. He was responsible for signal design system wide for Southern Pacific and has directed numerous design and construction projects for commuter, freight and transit clients. Under our On-Call PM/CM/Staff Augmentation contract with Metrolink/SCRRA (seehttp://www.railpros.com/news.php?nid=20), RailPros has been awarded the Contract Task Order (CTO) for SCRRA’s Positive Train Control (PTC) Project, providing Program and Project Management. Responsibilities include staffing and managing the Project Controls functions, assisting in drafting RFP documents, and managing the development and implementation team through the design, testing, and implementation of the PTC system.
Mr. Knepper has extensive experience in railroad operations and computer systems. His background has proven excellence in determining customer requirements, design, scheduling, and budgeting for control systems. He is highly experienced in the installation and implementation of office control systems for Class I, Commuter, Regional and Switching railroads. He has a keen knowledge of Operating Rules and his participation with such organizations as the Operating Rules Association of North America ensures that he is actively up-to-date on any operations developments. RailPros, Inc. has recently been awarded a contract by Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink) to provide on-call Project Management, Construction Management, and Staff Augmentation services. Under this 3 year, $20 million contract, RailPros will provide services for such projects as Positive Train Control, OC Service Expansion Program, Perris Valley Line, and MOW Information Systems.
Mr. Crowell has over 24 years of railroad, structural and civil engineering experience in the design, construction and project management of a wide range of transportation projects including track construction, bridges, grade crossings, grade separations, drainage projects, stations and other railroad facilities. He has dealt extensively with project stakeholders, resource agencies and host railroads in the planning, design and construction of various rail projects. RailPros is currently providing quiet zone management, design, and feasibility studies for railroad quiet zones in 10 cities in Southern California. The cities are hoping to take advantage of recent federal regulations allowing the development of railroad quiet zones, where trains do not whistle at grade crossings.
