RailPros Provides Track Inspectors to WMATA

Track Inspectors Quickly Mobilized to Fill WMATA’s Needs

As a subconsultant to Gannett Fleming, RailPros is providing track inspection services to the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA). The agency serves 117 miles of track and provides Metrorail services to 91 stations throughout the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland. Because of RailPros’ vast competency in track inspections, we are supplying a number of track inspectors, a project administrator, and one Project Manager who meet WMATA’s stringent qualifications requirements. RailPros’ proposal was reviewed by the prime, along with WMATA, and we were subsequently awarded the contract for track inspection services. RailPros mobilized and delivered “boots on the ground” inspectors to WMATA within three days of the Notice to Proceed. The exceptional work performed by our initial track inspectors prompted WMATA to extend our contract and request additional track inspectors, a Senior Track Engineer, and a Special Detail Inspector from RailPros. The project is estimated at $4.5 million for six months and includes the potential to review the Design-Build documents for the Washington/Dulles line project.
