Tenaha Connection Project

BNSF has tasked RailPros Field Services to design an interchange and connection from the Union Pacific joint track to the existing BNSF Longview subdivision at Tenaha, Texas. The design for this interchange track includes a 220’ railroad bridge over Texas Highway 59 in Tenaha. The bridge is a thru truss steel bridge with a center span placed in the highway median. RPFS did the initial site assessment of the location to confirm the constructability of the connection. We had extensive coordination with TX DOT to ensure they are in agreement with the new structure. Utility coordination and property needs were working in cooperation with BNSF and Cinnabar. These have been agreed upon and are in the final stages of completion. The last important portion of the design efforts was coordinated with the UP railroad. There is a new turnout from the UP ML to the BNSF connection which will require signal efforts and agreements with both companies to allow it to function as designed. RPFS has been leading the initial efforts to make sure that both companies are in agreement in the final design completion.
