RailPros Field Services was tasked to serve as project manager and railroad coordinator for PuebloPlex Industrial Park. The Department of Defense converted an old, decommissioned ammunitions facility into an industrial park to create a sustainable revenue stream for the property and facilities. RPFS is responsible for evaluating existing track infrastructure for overall condition, summarizing short and long term maintenance needs, identifying capital expansion candidates, providing scaled exhibits and geometric solutions for existing and expansion rail infrastructure, and creating cost estimates and summaries for the proposed improvements. RPFS interacted directly with the Class 1 railroads and rail users to gather critical market input, costs vs market potential to determine what rail improvements would best serve the facility, and whether existing rail systems would support demand and interests relative to the future uses of the facility. Responsibilities also included conducting a rail diversity analysis to study the rail system and potential improvements for development and connectivity to a regional rail center at the neighboring Pueblo Airport Industrial Park approximately 6 miles to the west of PuebloPlex.
