Senior Vice President and Chief Safety Officer

Rick Bellew is the Senior Vice President and Chief Safety Officer for RailPros. Rick is a professional railroader with over 20 years of experience in both freight and passenger rail. He has managed multiple disciplines throughout his career: including transportation, mechanical, track, safety, training, and compliance. Rick’s educational background includes a bachelor’s and master’s in business administration and an associate’s degree in occupational safety and health. He also holds a certificate from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST). Rick serves on a variety of committees, including the APTA Rail Safety Committee, AREMA Committees 24 and 40, and the NRC Safety Committee. Rick began his railroad career as a Roadmaster for the BNSF Railway, and advanced to other roles, including Director of Engineering for Caltrain and Safety Inspector for the Federal Railroad Administration Region 5. In his current position, Rick is responsible for all system safety, training, and compliance for RailPros. Rick leads a team of safety professionals for RailPros and oversees RailPros commercial Training and Media Production divisions.
