  • Railroad Structures Engineer


    RailPros’ structures group is expanding and we have immediate need of structural engineers to join our team designing and reviewing railroad bridges, roadway bridges, retaining walls and related structures.  This is a great opportunity to grow with us and advance your career.  We have current projects requiring design and review of new railroad bridges, roadway bridges and retaining walls in various locations throughout the United States.

    Mandatory Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil (structures emphasis) or Structural Engineering
    • Minimum 2 years railroad structures design experience
    • Proficient in drawing/detailing structural plans using Microstation

    Preferred Requirements:

    • PE license in California
    • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering

  • Track Inspector

    Job Description – RailPros has an immediate need for Track Inspectors to work in and around the Washington D.C. area.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform daily track inspections, complete track inspection reports, and reports unsafe conditions to the WMATA RWIC/ Escort for immediate actions
    • Mentor WMATA track Inspectors as requested by the TRST General Superintendent/TRST Management Team.
    • Comply with WMATA Roadway Worker Protection and safety/operating rules in the discharge and performance of field duties.

    Mandatory Requirements

    • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience working for a rail transit agency, or railroad qualified on FRA Class 4 railroad
    • Must have experience with railroad track construction and maintenance
    • Must know and understand track safety standards and apply the knowledge in the field
    • Must be able to document items of non-compliance
    • Must have appropriate oral and written communication skills
    • Must be physically fit and able to walk 5+ miles a day
    • Mentally sharp to be able to respond and react to a live environment
    • Be able to pass a background check to obtain a badge for the project

  • Civil/Traffic Engineer


    RailPros seeks a Civil/Traffic Engineer to join the Traffic Engineering team in our Irvine office to assist on a variety of traffic-oriented tasks on multiple projects throughout the company.

    The Civil/Traffic Engineer will be responsible for developing and completing work relative to traffic engineering including planning, design and signal operations, as well as directing other design engineers.

    The Civil/Traffic Engineer will assist in the development and successful delivery of a variety of technical work products, including analysis of existing traffic operations, traffic engineering analysis reports, design plans (signing, striping, stage construction/traffic control, traffic signal), specifications and estimates for city, county and freight and passenger rail facilities. Additional responsibilities include business development, writing proposals, defining project scopes, creating and maintaining budgets and managing/mentoring others. Field work is expected and the candidate should be able to travel to project sites.

    Mandatory Requirements:

    • BS in Civil Engineering
    • Minimum 5 years of Traffic Engineering experience
    • PE license in CA – Civil or Traffic
    • Strong technical background in traffic engineering, as well as experience preparing transportation planning documents and in signal operations
    • Strong communication skills – verbal and written

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Proficiency in Vissim or Syncho
    • Freight and/or Passenger Rail Preemption Experience
    • Additional PE Licenses and/or PTOE
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
