Highway Protector (HP) – (18877)

We are currently seeking Highway Protectors (HP) in and around West Palm Beach area to Jacksonville.

The Highway Protector (HP) arranges a safe work zone with all cones, barrels, barricades etc. The HP utilizes stop/slow paddles to control flow of traffic and perform lane closures while effectively communicating with work partner to conduct traffic flow. The HP must be comfortable working around high volume of fast-moving traffic.

  • Honesty, Integrity, Maturity – Your actions and behavior should reflect unquestionable professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
  • Professional appearance – HP personnel must appear professional and presentable to the public. A dress code will be enforced in this position and communicated prior to hire.
  • Reliability – HP personnel work according to a schedule. This schedule is communicated by client. An agreement to fulfill the schedule is a commitment to our client, and attendance at the time and date communicated is always required. Scheduled time off must be pre-arranged to minimize conflicts.
  • Composure – An ability to work professionally under pressure and to maintain composure under stressful and potential emergency situations is a must.
  • Comprehension – HP must be able to receive and follow directions to include reading back instructions received on a radio with 100% accuracy.

Additional skill requirements include the ability to work outdoors on irregular surfaces and in all weather conditions. A HP must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Experience:

  • 6 months – 1 year of Highway Construction Flagger and/or Traffic Flagger experience
  • Former Military, Law Enforcement, Fire & Emergency Medical, or related occupations
  • Former construction experience which requires compliance with OSHA regulations or the equivalent

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • The HP must always be alert and able to maintain composure under stressful and potentially emergency situations.
