Roadway Worker Protection Training (49 CFR 214 Subpart A & C)

COURSE OVERVIEW

This program is designed to certify individuals performing inspection, construction, maintenance or related services, or who may engage in work activities on railroad property in close proximity to active railroad tracks.

This training meets the requirements of FRA Regulation (49 CFR §214.343(B)) for annual Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) training. RailPros is approved to instruct RWP training for Brightline, CSX Transportation, Florida East Coast Railway, Genesee & Wyoming, Housatonic Railroad, Kansas City Southern Railway, Norfolk Southern, RailUSA, Seminole Gulf Railway and Union Pacific.

COURSE TOPICS

Each course varies depending on the requirements of the Railroad property. However, all classes include – at a minimum -the following topics:

  • Introduction to Roadway Worker Protection and On-Track Safety
  • General Safety Rules
  • Job Briefings & Communication Rules
  • On-Track Safety for Roadway Work Groups
  • On-Track Safety for Lone Workers
  • Adjacent Track On-Track Safety
  • Roadway Maintenance Machine Rules and Safety

ONLINE COURSE DURATION

Course length also varies by Railroad property. However, most classes require 4 hours to complete.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Ensure your employees are in compliance with Federal regulation and railroad policy through one of RailPros’ approved RWP Training Courses. Upon successful completion of a course, each student receives a badge or certificate of proof. Records are provided to employers and maintained securely with the RailPros Training Division.
