RailPros developed and conducted two specific, five-day training courses for the each of the Port of Long Beach’s Construction, Engineering, and Program Management Departments. The course curriculum was developed and custom tailored to teach the Port of Long Beach staff the techniques required to inspect new railroad construction to POLB railroad engineering standards. This included current industry standards on rail construction techniques and the equipment used; FRA and CPUC standards; and regulations governing track safety standards, clearance, and rail safety. Our staff also taught the Project Management and Construction Management requirements for new construction, along with railroad construction estimating and scheduling. • Conducted rail safety training classes at the Port • Taught inspection requirements of new railroad to POLB Engineering standards • Instruction on FRA and CPUC standards and regulations • PM/CM requirements lessons • Topics covered construction, estimating, and scheduling
